So you've been stung by a jellyfish, or multiple in my case... What's next? 1. Remove the tentacles with a credit card. Literally take a credit card/room key and scrape as hard as you can take it. Just a few times per affected area is enough. 2. Apply tiger leaves. Take a few tiger leaves and mix it with some bottled water. Apply the paste and let it sit for ten minutes. 3. Wipe the area down with vinegar, lots of it. Let that sit for another thirty minutes. 4. Shower and then you should be good to go!

The islands of Phi Phi are beyond amazing. The nightlife, the vibe, and the water are difficult to put into words. Phi Phi is by far one of the best places I have ever visited. Diving in Phi Phi is world-renowned. Novice and advanced divers can each find sites that are suited for their needs. There are so many dive shops to choose from that you could literally roll the dice and end up happy.
Everywhere you look, there are beautiful women grabbing your hand and asking you to get a massage. For 200 baht, you can get a one hour full body massage. The other night, I decided to finally get one before bed. There's a little place right next to where I'm staying. I befriended some of the women there. So of course I would give them my business!
At first, I negotiated for a cheaper rate. 1 hour for 180 baht. Solid. I was so confused for the next two minutes of our interaction. I was asking, "do I get undressed here?" She kept saying, "no lay down". Sooooo I quickly learned that Thai massage is done with your clothes on. Oil massages are clothing-less. Lesson learned. Some tourists get massages everyday here. The Thai massage is mainly deep stretching. I really don't think it could hurt you if you did it every day. As an American traveler told me last night, you could get a massage everyday here for a week and still pay less than an average massage in the states. She's right. At around $7 a pop, it's quite a steal. Let me tell you, I slept like a baby. Many people have told me that it hurts, like a deep tissue. I didn't think so at all. Yeah at some points it hurts. Like if you're sore, of course it's going to hurt. But it felt more like rehab than straight pain, like deep tissues normally feel like. Will I get them everyday? No. But I'll stick to a twice a week body boost!:) |
